Ramil Latypov, President of the Islam and Peace Charitable Foundation, meeting with Geshe Yonten, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Buddhists

On 4 April 2024, Ramil Latypov, President of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Members of Various Spiritual Denominations ‘Islam and Peace’, met with Geshe Yonten, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Buddhists. At the meeting they discussed issues of active co-operation between the Foundation and the Department on a number of issues. In particular, mutual understanding was reached in the sphere of more versatile interconfessional rapprochement between representatives of all Russian confessions. Also, the issue of inadmissibility of disagreements on interconfessional and interethnic basis was discussed. It was noted that the rapprochement of believers can contribute to social stability in society. Geshe Yonten expressed his consent to become a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation ‘Islam and Peace’, this kind of co-operation can become an effective factor of consolidation on an inter-confessional basis, this joint opinion was supported by the participants of the meeting.

Our motherland Russia is going through difficult times, when the aspirations of the enemies of our Motherland are aimed at inciting inter-religious and inter-ethnic discord in our society. Preventing this is the duty of all citizens and, first of all, spiritual leaders.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere of mutual understanding and unity of goals and objectives.
